Dear Guest, Welcome…
Join the San Diego Turkish Music Chorus for a stirring evening honoring the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and paying tribute to the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We are honored to present guest soloist Aylin Şengün Taşcı — a renowned vocal artist, journalist, television presenter, and academic — whose expressive voice and stage presence bring depth and emotional resonance to the program. Under the direction of the San Diego Turkish Music Chorus’ conductor, Necmi Hoke, the ensemble will perform selections that reflect Türkiye’s history, resilience, and enduring spirit.
Whether you are a proud member of the Turkish diaspora, a student of world music, or simply someone who appreciates cultural performances, this concert offers a meaningful evening of music, remembrance, and community.
A commemorative segment will reflect on Atatürk’s legacy, offering listeners a moment of reflection and appreciation for the ideals of unity, progress, and cultural heritage that shaped the Republic. Translations and short program notes will be provided for non-Turkish-speaking attendees.
The concert welcomes guests aged 6 & older.
